Jim Snyder Designs

Asylum

New Jim Snyder design in 2000
* Inseam range up to 32"
* 8'3" length/? width
* Accomodates boaters up to 250 lbs
Rounded hull short boat, with comfy knee and foot bumps. Designed with mystery, loop, and screw moves in mind. Sacrifices planing hull which is common on "modern" kayaks and squirts for a more rounded wing shape.

Fantum

* Inseam Range 28"-32"
* 8'2" length/24" width
Planding hull design, this 24"+ wide squirt boat excells at surfing and cartwheels. Flatspins with impunity. The extra width makes it "aloof" for fast surfing action, and stable for general cruising applications-it also makes a noticably slow boat. This is close to being a hybrid between a rodeo boat and a squirt boat as it is more volumous in the cockpit area than standard squirt boats are. Great for beginners, cruisers, or extra large people.

Hellbender

* Inseam Range 28"-32"
* 8' 1/2" length/22.5" width
Planding hull design. Same inseam range as the Fantum with a flat hull but served up skinny (22.5") and low volume for downtime hunters. A very small boat- perhaps not ideal for beginners or casual cruisers, but ideal for experts, surfers, or destination boaters. The boat is so small it "bosses" around easy.

Underdawg

* Inseam range 31"-37"
* 8'5" length/23.5" width
Planning hull design. Skinny, short, low volume flat hull rendered in the Bigfoot inseam range. Ideal for those who prefer short boats or who surf or do mysteries intensively. Possibly too much of a hair trigger live wire for beginners.

Fish

* Inseam range 24"-28"
* 7'8" length/22.5" width
Planning hull done in the Maestro inseam range (24"-28"). Shorter and livlier than the Maestro. Superior surfing and mystery ability. Possilby too small and tricky for beginner cruising. High performance for serious squirt boaters who want quality surf action.

Bigfoot

* Inseam Range 31"-38"
* 10'2" length/24" width
Displacement hull designed with minimal volume, generous foot bumps and raised knee pockets -- is intended for people with medium to long legs or large feet.
Achieves the balance between comfort and performance.
The Bigfoot is optimal for expert squirt boaters. They will be able to achieve maximum downtime and higher degrees of control while navigating underwater. Experts find it transitions easily during cartwheels. The bow will rise dramatically out of the water once released from a bow pivot into a stern squirt. Expert squirt artists will find it the ultimate play machine for river running.

Shred

* Inseam Range 28"-32"
* 9'6" length/24" width
Displacement hull, the Shred is designed for the highest degree of control in very difficult squirt maneuvers, such as transitional moves when boat is beyond the vertical plan and steering during mystery moves.

The Bigfoot and Maestro can also be cut to Shred specifications.

Prize

* Inseam Range 28"-32"
* 10'2" length/24" width
Patterned after the Bigfoot in order to accommodate squirtists with a shorter inseam length. Hand divots have been added to the deck which aid entry and exit of the boat. The hull mirrors that of the Bigfoot.

Maestro

* Inseam Range 24"-28"
* 8'9" length/24" width
Designed and named for Jim's brother, Jeff Snyder, who is the "Maestro" of the sport. Patterned after the Bigfoot. Flatter hull creates a very stable boat, surfing and spinning like a "wet dream"
